Most modern cars will use a standard size plate. If you have a short registration number, you may choose a shorter plate – this is entirely down to personal preference. If choosing a shorter plate, do check to make sure there are no existing screw holes that may be exposed.

Fitting your new number plates is quick and simple. Follow these steps for a clean, secure finish:

Carefully take off your existing plates — they may be attached with screws, caps or adhesive pads.
Wipe the plates and the area where the new plates will go with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry both with a clean cloth and ensure they are dry, smooth and free of dirt or grease.
Hold each plate in place to check they are centred and aligned properly — on the front of the car they should be secured to the bumper, and on the rear they should be fastened to the tailgate or bumper. Use your old plates as a template for the holes on the new plates if needed.
